This is one of my favorite speeches anywhere, by anyone. MavArthur just about covered his topic completely, succintly, and with a bit of graniloquence, as only he could do. A bravura retreat from the limelight by one of best, holder of the Medal of Honor, as was his father. Incidentally, one of the pictures I carry in my head of leadership is BGEN MacArthur and COL Patton standing upright in No Man’s Land, during the First World War, having a conversation under fire.
How long ago 1962 seems, and how I wish our current leadership would live by this address.
Thank You, Dale.
